A horizontal fermentation tank in a brewery
Present situation: horizontal tanks,
length 35 m, diameter 5 m three conventional washing each with 4 nozzles.
A distance within 8 meters around each machine
the walls were cleaned sufficiently. In between and in the long ends
of the tank pollution was building up.
The simulation picture of the present situation
below shows a cleaning intensity of only 2 l/m2 in the worst
case and of 6 l/m2 at the distance where pollution was building
up.
Cyberjet solution:
Replace the 3 washing heads with 2 Cyberjets with one nozzle each.
The Cyberjet is programmed in such a way that all places in the tank will
be washed with 6 l/m2 . In spite of the raised intensity by
a factor 3, two nozzles a gainst 12, the total flowrate decreased by a
factor 5, a mesh witdh of the pattern refined by a factor 5, the speed
of the jet's impingement point lowered by a factor 4, the Cyberjets
could do the job faster using only 15% of the normal amount of water.
A cargo-tank of an inland tanker ship
Present situation: After discharge each of the tanks needs to
be washed to prevent contamination of the next cargo with the previous
one. Washing with two conventional washing heads, two nozzles each. Frequency:
daily. Duration: depending on the kind of cargo ranging from 5 min (less
than a cycle) to more than one hour (several cycles). All of the washing
water used, has to be delivered to the harbor receipt facilities. (at
dfl 300.000,- / year)
Cyberjet solution:
Any kind of cleaning kan be done in approximately half the time using
18% of the amount of washing water. The steering program has a parameter
allowing to adjust the required cleaning intensity for the kind of cargo.
For each setting the Cyberjet produces a unique cleaning pattern that covers
the tank only once. Pay backtime of the investment based on the delivery
costs of the slops, approximately 1.5 year.
